Description

The Promentum® SYS-6002 platform is a low-profile 2-slot integrated platform, which provides a compact cost-effective solution ideally suited for an array of specialized appliances such as sophisticated security and traffic handling applications.

The compact 2U, 2-slot Promentum SYS-6002 platform eliminates the need for an ATCA switch module, and is replaced by on-board Ethernet switching on purpose-built products such as the Promentum ATCA-7220 dual OCTEON* packet processing module, ATCA-9100 Media Resource Module, and Promentum ATCA-1200 Quad AMC carrier module. The SYS-6002 includes optional shelf management capabilities that are hosted on the slot one payload blade, thereby providing additional cost savings and flexibility with in the platform. The SYS-6002 also supports a 48V DC power feed, with optional AC power in a stand-alone 1U AC power module by which supporting both central office or datacenter environments. The ultra-low profile of the Promentum SYS-6002 makes it a perfect fit low-density subscriber areas deployments and specialized applications.

The SYS-6002 offers two shelf management options on the slot one management board options; ATCA-7220, ATCA-9100, or ATCA-1200. First is the Basic Mode, this cost effective implementation enables initialization, FRU activation, and extends control of the shelf to the end user’s system management software to provide additional platform management capabilities. The second option is the Enhanced Mode, which provides an optional fully functional shelf manager on the slot one management board. The Enhanced Mode option supports a fully integrated SAF compliant hardware platform interface (HPI), which provides a standard application programming interface (API) for system manager development and manageability of the platform.

The Promentum SYS-6002 is designed in accordance with AdvancedTCA Standard PICMG 3.0 Rev 2.0, and supports the following features:

  • 2 slot ATCA Backplane with 15 x Mesh Fabric Interface, Interconnected Base Interface and bused IPMB Interface, supporting two 8U (280mm deep) node boards and two 8U (80mm deep), rear transition modules.
  • Mounting brackets for 19“ cabinets
  • Removable top cover for easy access to top slot for ATCA blade development
  • ESD Wrist Strap Terminals at front and rear
  • Cooling for 200 W per Front Board and 15 W per RTM
  • Front pluggable Fan Trays with high performance 80mm fans
  • Front serviceable air filter
  • Dual -48/-60 VDC inputs with 15 A fuse protection
  • Optional stand-alone 1U AC Shelf (x 3 AC module bays)
