OS-9 is a full-featured operating system, including the OS kernel, kernel services, industry-standard APIs, middleware and complete graphical IDE-based framework. But the story doesn't end there. RadiSys also provides an extensive set of options--available as software development tools and run-time modules, all which extend OS-9's base software capabilities. This growing list of options includes powerful tools for user interface design, virtualization support, parallel processing, specialized industrial I/O, networking stacks, virtualization tools, as well as protected storage options. Developed and optimized for Microware OS-9, these market-proven solutions reduce risk and accelerate platform integration and application development cycles.
HawkEye - A GUI based software analyzer to visualize the operation of an OS-9 system and application modules.
XiBaseGUI - Graphics tool to enable the creation of displays, user interfaces and touch screens.
IPsec - Soft-crypto authentication and encryption protocol package for securing IP communications.
EtherCAT - Real-time, high performance Ethernet-based fieldbus system.
CANbus - Control-area network for industrial and automotive systems.
Modbus - Serial communications bus for industrial control and automation.
Reliance File System - Data file protection for mission-critical embedded systems.
TrueFFS - Wear-leveling Flash file system for embedded systems.
Microware Hypervisor - Real-time hypervisor enabling simultaneous instances of real-time and general purpose operating systems on multi-core platforms.
HawkEye is a GUI-based visualization tool for the OS-9 operating system. HawkEye captures and analyzes logs of all the various system events, such as process forks and exits, context switches, system calls and interrupts, as well as application-specific messages. With all process interaction presented in an intuitive, graphical format, developers save a significant amount of time when debugging or optimizing applications.
The Microware Hypervisor allows multiple operating systems to run concurrently on hyper-threaded single core or multi-core processors such as Intel Core Duo and Intel Xeon. The Hypervisor runs the OS-9 real-time operating system (RTOS) along with Windows and Linux general purpose operating systems (GPOS), creating a parallel processing environment. The environment provides direct hardware access to OS-9 for guaranteed real-time performance. The Microware Hypervisor enables consolidation of multiple systems onto a single platform. The result is a reduced total cost of ownership, easy porting and the ability to reuse application software, optimized system performance and improved system reliability.
XiBaseGui is a powerful graphical user interface and language development tol for rapid creation, customization and testing of compelling human machine interfaces (HMI) and touch screens for embedded systems and multimedia devices. The XiBaseGUI comprehensive tool suite and graphics libraries facilitate rendering of displays and generating application source code, that can be compiled and debugged on the same host platform that runs the Microware Hawk IDE tool suite.
The IPSec soft-crypto based suite of protocols secures IP communications by authenticating and encrypting each packet in a data stream.
The EtherCAT (Ethernet for Control Automation Technology) stack - an open, high performance Ethernet-based field bus used for industrial automation - is optimized for OS-9 platforms.
For automotive applications and to connect industrial computing devices, the CANbus (Control-area network) stack is optimized for OS-9 platforms.
Popular in control and data acquisition of industrial devices, the Modbus serial communications stack is optimized for OS-9 platforms.
Reliace File System provides additional level of safety to OS-9 systems by protecting system data directories and files. The file system works on any OS-9 platform and suports transaction points allowing the system to 'rollback' and access the last-known good data in the event of system power loss.
The FTL (flash transition layer) is a standard Flash file system providing disk emulation for OS-9 storage. TrueFFS for OS-9 utilizes standard disk file managers and a flash file device driver for data access and protection.
